Mark Prisk opens new ‘Calton Court’ flexi-care scheme in Hertford

Tuesday, 26 March, 2013

On Friday I was delighted to officially open Calton Court, Riversmead Housing Association’s new flexi-care scheme in Hertford, Sele.

Being present at the beginning of the Calton Court project only a few years ago, it was great to come back to see what was essentially a set of drawings, being developed into something that residents can really call their home.

The development includes 53 one and two bedroom flats featuring communal lounges, a bathing spa and treatment room, hair and beauty salon, laundry room and internet area with Wi-Fi facilities. The scheme also houses the local doctor’s surgery, which is open to both Calton Court residents and the wider community.

The state-of-the art living facilities provides an outstanding place for older and vulnerable people to live and I was delighted to be able to meet and present a bouquet of flowers to a particularly special resident, Rene Lavelle, the oldest resident living at Calton at 97 years old.
