Blindfolded Walk with Guide Dogs UK

Mark joined the charity Guide Dogs in Hertford to learn more about the street hazards that affect partially sighted people.

Mark took a blindfolded tour of the town to experience pavement hazards like A-boards and poor parking for himself. After the tour, he said: 'our streets are an obstacle course for the visually impaired.'

We can all make simple adjustments to the layouts of our public spaces with sight-restricted people in mind. Steps can be as simple as avoiding pavement parking, which can create dangerous situations for guide dogs and their owners.

You can head to to see how they’re improving lives for partially sighted and blind people every day.
