East Herts Council has issued a statement concerning its policy towards a planning application for a quarry near Bengeo, apologising for any misunderstandings and clarifying the council’s policy. This follows a letter from Mark Prisk MP to the Leader of the Council seeking clarification.
Commuters from Hertford North have condemned their rail service over the last six months as unreliable, according to a survey conducted by Mark Prisk MP. 77% of those polled cited the unreliability of the service run by Govia Thameslink as the one thing they most want to see change.
Mark Prisk MP is meeting with the head of Govia Thames Link (GTR) next month, along with others, to discuss the daily problems commuters face. Mark is therefore conducting a survey of passengers, to put to senior managers of GTR.
Last week, Mark Prisk MP was tested for anaemia, a ‘hidden condition’ which affects around 4 million in the UK. Anaemia is a leading cause of disability, potentially costing the NHS an estimated £54 million per year.
Mark Prisk MP has urged those in Hertford and Stortford who are at risk of getting flu to get their free vaccine jab before winter sets in as it emerged that 138,665 people missed out on protection last year across Hertfordshire.
