Mark Prisk MP has shared some positive statistics from the Department of Education regarding local schools.
Mr Prisk said, 'Many constituents write to me on the important issue of local schools, particularly regarding funding, school places and the quality of our local education. I'm delighted to share some great news about our local schools.
• In Hertfordshire, 90% of children now attend schools rated good or outstanding, compared to 72% in 2010
• Over the two years 2018/19 and 2019/20, per-pupil funding in Hertfordshire is going up by £103 (2.4% - compared to the national average of 3.2%) and when changes in pupil numbers are taken into account, total funding rises by £32.1 million (up 4.4% compared to 2018/18)
• In Hertfordshire, 24.720 school places have been created, as part of the wider national effort to create a million school places this decade. New schools will be created in the coming years'
