Mark Prisk pledged his support for Dogs Trust's anti puppy smuggling campaign in light of revelations presented by the charity's investigations.
He told social media followers:

Hundreds of puppies will have been gifted across the UK at Christmas. But are you aware of the smuggling trade that sees thousands of underage puppies and heavily pregnant mothers forced to travel across Europe in horrific conditions? ⠀
Dogs Trust have uncovered corrupt vets forging false vaccination stamps and pet passports, and have exposed the gruelling conditions these poor animals are subjected to during their arduous journeys here from Europe.⠀
