In response to the news that the Civil Aviation Authority has ruled that BAA plc must sell off Stansted Airport, Mark Prisk MP said today: ""Monopolies are bad for consumers, and BAA's near monopoly around London has been bad for passengers and even worse for local residents. So I welcome the break up of this monopoly and hope that we can see common sense prevail. Who will buy Stansted and when this could happen remains unclear. However what is clear is that the prospects for a second runway have just become even more remote. The Labour Government now needs to listen to us and reverse its nonsensical plans.""
