Today I had a helpful meeting with rail minister Paul Maynard.
He will look again at Network Rail's plans for buses to replace trains northwards from Watton-At-Stone to Stevenage.
I stressed the importance of those needing to get from Hertford to Stevenage, including these to Lister Hospital.
Whilst the other plans from 2018 mean more, better trains southwards from Hertford in and out of London, the squeeze on facilities at Stevenage has caused National Rail to consider replacing some trains from Watton with buses.
I made it clear to the Minister what local people think of this and he agreed to look again at all the options. No announcements are expected until late Summer about the final scheme planned for 2018 onwards.
