Mark Prisk MP has completed the ‘Understanding Autism’ training with the National Autistic Society.
The course contained modules on perspectives from people on the autism spectrum about how autism is defined and experienced. It included the strengths and challenges experienced by many autistic people and how to respond to create enabling environments.
Mr Prisk said:
'Autism is a lifelong disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. There are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the U.K. and three million supportive family members and carers.
We should all be doing our bit to make our society more autism friendly.'
